![]() ![]() ![]() Although, when you have an Ident that could so easily be compared / associated with a different company (In this case, Columbia), surely if that company were to produce a poorly rated productions, that would tarnish your reputation as a company?Įxpanding upon the topic of recognition, the Pegasus used in the Ident could be used as the one aspect of the Ident that differentiates it from the competition. This, in theory, could perhaps boost the reputation of the TriStar’s properties and productions. The Pegasus seen flying towards the screen as the Ident plays signifies magnificence. However, in many ways I can understand the idea they had and what they were going for with the Ident. Not only does this make the Ident incredibly forgettable / dull in comparison to its Columbia counterpart, but also just makes it seem like a shameless rip off, which in theory it is. TriStar, whilst definitely linked to Columbia insome ways, should never have chosen to follow the same design concept as Columbia. The studio ‘Columbia Pictures’ is also connected to Sony Pictures Entertainment. For those unaware, TriStar Productions “is a joint-venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and former 20th Century Fox chairman Tom Rothman”. That being the Tristar productions Ident (Seen below on the left) There’s just something about it.
